Best for
Loops IPTV has carved out a niche that most international providers ignore: Canadian households, with particular attention to French-language and Québec viewers. During our 14-day evaluation, we found a service that punches above its $7.92/month entry price for Francophone subscribers, even if it can't match the sheer scale of premium tier-one providers. The lineup spans roughly 17,000 live channels and a VOD library of around 42,000 titles, with the bulk of the catalog weighted toward Canadian, French, and Québécois broadcasts rather than the usual US-heavy mix we see elsewhere. On our Firestick 4K Max, channel zaps averaged just over two seconds across the Canadian and French feeds, and EPG data populated reliably for the major Québec networks we sampled. Streaming the service through the NVIDIA Shield Pro produced cleaner 4K playback than the Firestick, particularly on French cinema VOD, where bitrate held steady without the buffering dips we noticed on cheaper hardware. Pushed to the Samsung QLED via the Shield, full HD Canadian channels looked sharp, though we did see a handful of SD-only feeds among the regional Québec stations, which is honestly typical given how those broadcasters originate their signals. Resolutions on offer cover SD, HD, FHD, and 4K, but 4K is concentrated in the VOD catalog and a smaller subset of premium live channels rather than across the board. Where Loops stumbles is anything outside its Canadian-French focus. US sports coverage is thin compared with what we get from larger providers, with no dedicated RSN depth and limited PPV-style event handling. The overall channel count of 17,000 also trails the 25,000-plus libraries common at the premium tier, so cord-cutters chasing global breadth should look elsewhere. That said, the 24-hour free trial is genuinely useful, requires no awkward workarounds to activate, and gave us enough time to verify the channels we cared about before committing. At $7.92/month on the longest plan, we think Loops earns its 8.6/10 score for the audience it actually targets: Canadian and French-speaking subscribers who want their local content treated as a priority rather than an afterthought bolted onto a US-centric service.
