ISP Throttling IPTV in 2026 — How to Detect and Bypass It

If your IPTV streams perfectly at 3am but buffers during the 7pm football game, your ISP is throttling. We've seen this pattern on every major US ISP (Comcast, Spectrum, Verizon, Cox) and major UK ISPs (BT, Virgin Media, Sky) in 2026.

How to detect ISP throttling

Run this 5-minute test to confirm:

1. Speed test at peak time (7-10pm) on your IPTV device. Note the speed.

2. Speed test at off-peak (3am or 5am). Note the speed.

3. If off-peak is 30%+ faster, your ISP is throttling.

Alternative: install a VPN, run speed test with VPN on at peak time. If speeds restore, ISP is the culprit.

The fix: VPN + DNS

Step 1: VPN with proper protocol
